HOA Move-In / Move-Out Policy

Policies

Policy governing the scheduling, elevator reservation, and common area protection requirements for moves in and out of the community.

About this template

Move-ins and move-outs are a frequent source of property damage and neighbor conflict in HOA communities, particularly in condominium and townhome associations. A clear move-in/move-out policy establishes advance notice requirements, elevator and loading dock reservation procedures, common area protection requirements, and damage deposit terms. This policy protects the association's property while making the moving process clear and predictable for homeowners and tenants.

What's included
  • Advance notice requirement for scheduling a move
  • Permitted move hours and days to minimize community disruption
  • Elevator and service entrance reservation process
  • Common area protection requirements — floor pads, wall corner guards
  • Damage deposit amount and refund process
  • Moving company requirements (certificate of insurance)
